Project Monitoring-18th January

According to my schedule the plan of this week was to have started my second article write up, which is 'Can't Handle The Stress'. Unfortunately that has not happened, I am still finding research for my first article, which is 'A Touch Of Class'. Its taking much more time than I assumed it would, also I had my exam earlier this week. This has contributed to taking up alot of my time to keep up with my schedule. The last few days I have been researching Marilyn Monroe, her background and her fashion, I am working towards finding out how she has influenced generations. It has been a little bit difficult finding information that would be useful in my article because most of the information found is about her death and the conspiracy behind it. I have also had trouble trying to find some books with information about her in from the college library. As there has been a refurbishment in the library, all the books are in boxes. I tried to have a look in the boxes and try and find the specific books that i wanted but i was unsuccessful, the library staff said they would have a look for them but it would take a couple of days. This morning I went to the library and they found the books that I wanted, they include some really good images and lots of films that I could use for information in my breakout boxes.

I am going to have to speed through the process of writing the two articles, and find more content for my 'Cant Handle The Stress' article. This is going to cause a problem for the rest of my schedule, as I will have have to finish this work, which will go into the next week. I will have to put off the first tasks next week and try and finish them before the end of the week so I dont get so behind that it will be difficult to get on top of everything else. I want to make sure that i have enough time for the actual creation of the magazine.

Project Monitoring - 11th January

My First Monitoring Log
I have organised my schedule so that I’ll be writing up the articles before everything else. This is because writing the articles is my weakest point, it takes a lot of my time and ill need to do a lot of research as ill be starting all three of my articles from scratch. I think my schedule is realistic I’ve set it out so I have as much time as I can for each task, and I have room to grow. I’ve tried not to cram everything together and organised it in the best possible way, I’ve set it out so I have time to revise for my philosophy exam putting some of the easier tasks in during that week. I will be beginning with my 'A Touch Of Class' article, this is think is going to take the most time out of all my articles because its a brand new idea for an article I put together after my mock up idea failed. I think the content research will be the big issue as I dont have much idea about what I want to contain in the article.
I have put some overspill contingency time in my schedule, this is just in case I have to go somewhere, miss a lesson or just generally need more time on a specific task. I don’t want to be rushing at the last minute so I think the contingency time is very useful. I think the challenges of my schedule are going to be working round other deadlines and exams for my other subjects, I’m going to have to juggle my free time the best as I can and try and keep to my schedule, but as I pointed out before I have set some easier tasks in the week of the exam. Also this week I am going to work on booking a photoshoot in my free time, this includes looking for models that I think will be approriate for each of my photoshoots, this could be a difficult task as finding models that look the way you want them to and be willing to do the things you ask them to do can take a lot of time.
